2003-2004 Canola Yield Studies Dept. of Plant and Soil Sciences

Perkins, Oklahoma:

Site was planted Oct-3-03 at 8 lbs per acre at 7.5” row spacing with a Great Plains no-till drill. Seed was plant from the small seed box attachment. Site was fertilized for a yield goal of 2500 lbs. Study was harvested on Jun-2-04 with a Wintersteiger Classic 2000 plot combine. At harvest seed moisture levels ranged from 6.7 to 9.8%. Lahoma, Oklahoma :

Site was planted Sept-25-03 at 8 lbs per acre at 7.5” row spacing with a Great Plains no-till drill. Seed was plant from the small seed box attachment. Site was fertilized for a yield goal of 2500 lbs. Study was harvested on Jun-6-04 with a Wintersteiger Classic 2000 plot combine. At harvest seed moisture levels ranged from 9.8 to 14.3%. Seed was dried to 8 to 11%.

Chickasha, Oklahoma :

Site was planted Oct-1-03 at 8 lbs per acre at 7.5” row spacing with a Great Plains no-till drill. Seed was plant from the small seed box attachment. Site was fertilized for a yield goal of 2500 lbs. Study was harvested on Jun-3-04 with a Wintersteiger Classic 2000 plot combine. At harvest seed moisture levels ranged from 9.38 to 15.12%.

* Plot size was eight by thirty feet with six replications.
** Seed of DKW13-62 had poor vigor and only 70% germination, but no other seed was available for planting in the fall of 2003.
