2002-2003 Canola Yield Studies Dept. of Plant and Soil Sciences
Perkins, Oklahoma:
Site was planted Sep-26-02 at 6.5 lbs per acre. A cone seeder with seven 7.5-inch wide rows was used to plant the canola in to good soil moisture at a depth of 0.75. Study was harvested June-09-03 with a small plot combine by taking a 3.75 by 25 ft portion. At harvest seed moisture levels ranged from 9.83% to 10.00%. Yields adjusted to 9% moisture.
Lake Carl Blackwell , Oklahoma :
Site was planted Sep-27-02 at 6.5 lbs per acre. A cone seeder with seven 7.5-inch wide rows was used to plant the canola in to moist soil conditions at a depth of 0.5. Study was harvested June-19-03 with a small plot combine. At harvest seed moisture levels ranged from 7.48% to 8.85%. Yields adjusted to 9% moisture.
